This was a fun book--Konrath has a way of weaving in wit and humor with his horror that I can't help but love. I laughed and grinned the whole way through. It reads like he had fun writing it, and that despite all the horrible things happening, the characters can still crack a joke. The book has fun with itself, and sometimes you just need a story like that.
The cast was great (I have a total soft spot for Belgium & Race), and Bub stood out as a great character and I loved getting inside his head. The pace was quick, the action great, and it read well.
If I had any nitpicks, it would be maybe give us a more to work with background/character wise. Each of the main cast got a quick character moment that defined them, but while too much more might have ruined the pacing, …

If I had any nitpicks, it would be maybe give us a more to work with background/character wise. Each of the main cast got a quick character moment that defined them, but while too much more might have ruined the pacing, I would have liked a little more time with each character--or more time interacting. There's a point where the priest & the rabbi share a moment alone talking in their bedroom that's one of the best in the book.
Oh, and Sun. Don't get me wrong, I liked her--but there were times where it seemed she was good at well, everything. Lots of hidden talents coming out from no where. But it wasn't bad enough to deter from the story, so there was that.
Overall? Loved it. Well worth picking up if you have a chance and don't mind a bit of gore mixed in with your humor.
