Read it in high school, specifically while waiting in a cartoonishly long line at the DMV. The best part is the one where Bono comes in, the worst part is everything else. He, like Haber and Obama before him, should not have accepted the Nobel.
Fantastic, roving autobiography that swings through Dylan's life through music, his love of it, and how it shaped him. Written with a troubadour's flourish it sails smoothly through different points in the songwriter's life, starting and ending at the beginning. From the only Nobel Prize laureate with a Christmas album.
I really liked the flow or stream in that book, it made me feel I was listening to Bob Dylan talking to me.
Just what I'd expect from Dylan

- well done and well crafted.
There's a good angle here of Bob being completely uninterested in the role he was cast in ("leader of a generation"). "All I was interested in was my wife and family" he says.
