I liked the first few chapters but then at some point, it felt too focused on the joys of storing and organizing physical books rather than reading itself. It had some fun moments but I wanted it to end soon because, yeah, I’d rather be reading something else.
From the same perspective of book lovers, I found every word of the author relatable. Such a comfy feeling sitting on a couch reading a book about reading life!
I particularly enjoy the short series and statements the author derived from them. For example, when she warns about the attitude of book recommendation: "You shouldn’t tell a friend how to live her life, unless she asks—and even if she does, proceed with caution."
And about the logging act of book life: "It’s embarrassing to admit, but without logging what I read, I forget all about it. I retain the ideas, and remember them when they’re triggered, but without referring to my journal, I can barely remember what I’ve been reading."
That's also a reason why I started Goodreads to log my journey.

That was very neat, in a meta sort of way. What do we read, why do we read, how do we read? Nobody is unique in their reading (or non-reading) habits, which makes this small book very relatable - and funny. And I even snagged a few titles that I'll have to put on my "to read" list :)
