Review of 'The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl Vol. 1: Squirrel Power' on 'Goodreads'

The world needs more heroes that talk to animals, especially with names like Chipmunk Hunk and Koi Boy.

This is hilarious. The art style is fantastic, the squirrels are adorable, and I like the running text at the bottom of the pages giving asides to the audience. While the first few issues are mostly Squirrel Girl beating up various baddies, I like the story that's starting to develop about the beginning of her college years and friendships, too.
Much fluffier than my usual reading fare, but very well executed.
So much fun, in fact, I had to read it again.
Awesome. Just awesome, and wonderful. All the feels :-D
I got this because I had a gift card, and it was everything I wanted it to be, except that it only collected four issues.
This is funny and knowledgeable without being in-joke-y or mean-spirited. Basically the only people who might not like this is people who will be angry that Henderson has elected to not draw Squirrel Girl's facial markings.
Hilarious! I love these comics so much. Squirrel Girl and her squirrel companion tippy toe have just started college but before she even attends some classes she gets into all manner of situations, including "borrowing" Tony Stark's iron man suit, and a battle on the moon! This comic series is very light hearted and fun, and it was the little things that had me snorting with laughter. Every other page has footnotes too, which adds to the fun tone of the story. It was also wonderful to see a superhero that is not only female, but that was averaged sized. Squirrel Girl is normal girl (bushy tail notwithstanding) and I just love reading her adventures.
I read this as individual issues, but will be purchasing the volume once published!
