"Shuos Jedao is awake... and nothing is as he remembers. He's a teenager, a cadet--a nobody--in the body of an old man; a general in command of an elite force. And he's the most feared, and reviled, man in the galaxy. Jedao carries orders from Hexarch Nirai Kujen to re-conquer the fractured pieces of the hexarchate. But he has no memory of ever being a soldier, let alone a general, and the Kel soldiers under his command hate him for a massacre he can't remember committing. Kujen's friendliness can't hide the fact that he's a tyrant. And what's worse, Jedao and Kujen are being hunted--by an enemy who knows more about Jedao than he does himself..."--

Another great book in the series

Feels like the camera shifted from Cheris to Jedao. Would have liked to see more of her, but I feel like I get why we didn't. Some wild surprises in this one, as there have been in each book so far. Loving this series still!

Wow, there's so much plot! Nice to really meet a few more characters, but I kind of wish Cheris got a bit more screen time. I thought the ending was sweet, and the way all the storylines get brought together felt pretty good - I wasn't sure we'd get there at times.

Review of 'Revenant gun' on 'Storygraph'

I loved it, I love this series. My only complaint is that the pacing was off in this one - Lee is usually so masterful at pacing. This felt a little like it should have been two novels instead of one, and a number of scenes could have been more powerful if given some more room to breath. There weren’t as many musings on the juxtaposition of colors or the reflections in a cat’s eye and I missed them. I would have loved to see those things through Jedao’s strange eyes.

But a beautiful wrap up nonetheless, I feel like we’ve seen an end to the current conflict with some seeds of the next. We’ve learned so much about moths and servitors and their potential. I hear whispers about another book in the series? I hope that’s true.
