Vraiment un délire de mec, vite lu et sans doute vite oublié

John Hero, alias Cobrastar, profite d’un massacre inopiné dans un restaurant paumé de l’Arizona peuplé de culs terreux et d’extraterrestres pour faire main basse sur une clé renfermant des informations cryptées. Il s’enfuit à bord de son vaisseau, sans savoir que à peu près la moitié de l’univers en a après ces données numériques.
Et le voilà embarqué dans une aventure à travers la galaxie, affublé d’un équipage improbable : Lucy (une IA cachottière), BlackFury (une chasseuse de primes redoutable et sexy), Bambino (un colosse taciturne mais perspicace), Tiny Boom (une tendre créature dotée d’un fâcheux penchant pour les explosifs) et Elijah (un jeune Terran refoulé, mais qui se révèle rapidement tout aussi dégénéré que les autres). Les Disco Boys, tueurs à gages groovy, et Plague Snyssken, le psychopathe le plus recherché de la galaxie, sont sur leurs traces. Vont-ils s’en sortir ?

Si vous avez adoré Les Gardiens de la galaxie, Borderlands ou Les Tontons flingueurs, vous devriez aimer Cobrastar. Avec ce premier roman, Thomas Bois fait sa déclaration d’amour au space opera et au polar de gare éthylique. Sur fond de guerres intergalactiques, une bande de zozos se déchaîne, et c’est d’une bêtise plus que jouissive, intersidérale : « Le tarin en chou-fleur, une bastos dans la couille gauche, le prince helvégasque ne comprend toujours pas ce qui a déclenché ce merdier et d’où sortent ces tarés. On n’a pas vu un bordel pareil depuis des générations. »
