I Hope This Finds You Well

A great book for a debut!! I saw other readers leave some negative reviews because they did not like the characters or found it flat but I picked this up for an easy, breezy read and I got exactly that. Jolene is not a likeable character. Shes an asshole and rather grumpy but these people exist. People exist of all sorts of varying degrees of emotional intelligence and maturity. I enjoyed the story, the characters and the outcome. I found it worth the read to the end and thoroughly enjoyed Jolene's journey into healing as well as development.

A fun workplace dramedy, written in a heartfelt manner from the point of view of the lead, Jolene. I enjoyed reading about the Persian culture too and the pressure to succeed and have a rich life. Cliff the MMC was a cool dude too and loved his nerdiness.

PS. Supershops sounded like a horrendous place to work. No idea if it's real but if you work there, move on.

When I started this book I wasn't sure I was in the mood for a book like this. I was in a solemn mood. The character development was incredible. By the end it reminded me that we never really know what individuals are going through. Most people are so distracted by their own stuff. We really are working to the best of our ability with what we are given.
