A crime story with a spooky flavour and some weird theology.
Odd Thomas sees dead people, though he can't communicate with them, so when his neighbour and best friend's father's ghost appears to him he goes over to their house and finds the father dead and the son missing. He notifies the police, who can't find the perpetrators, and then gets the idea that he must pursue them on his own.
It has similar ingredients to the "supernatural thrillers" of Charles Williams, but mixed in the wrong proportions, with rather repetitious crudely physical action, and rather shallow and unconvincing villains.
