One Hundred Demons

I’m re-reading this one for the first time in many, many years and I think that having more life experience than I did the first time I read this book makes it even better. The emotional depth of memory and reflection, interpreting the experiences of our childhoods, all of that hits harder now than it did when I was 20. 100 Demons is a fine example of the alchemy of creativity, transforming difficult experiences—alienation, abuse, resulting self-hatred—into a story of self-love, self-care and empathy that each one of us benefits from as we read it.
