"The Laundry Files' 'fast-paced blend of espionage thrills, mundane office comedy and Lovecraftian horror' (SFX) continues as Hugo Award-winning author Charles Stross assigns a day trader to a permanent position on the night shift ... After stumbling upon the algorithm that turned him and his fellow merchant bankers into vampires, Alex Schwartz was drafted by The Laundry, Britain's secret counter-occult agency that's humanity's first line of defense against the forces of darkness. An enjoyable addition to the Luandry Files

4 stars

This book has Alex (from the previous book) as the main POV character and the change is an enjoyable look at the world without the main characters. The actions in the book move the world in dramatic ways, really feels as if it kicks off a new stage in the series and I look forward to reading more

I had a lot of fun with the first four or five of the Laundry series, I wasn't a big fan of the sixth, I didn't know if I'd continue if book seven wasn't better. It's better! It's a fun story and I'll be back for the next book when it comes out, but I still enjoyed the first books more than the recent later books.
