Though one or two of the pieces in this collection weren’t enthralling, I found the bulk intriguing, though-provoking, and profound. Didion has a way with words that, from what I’ve read, has never been replicated my another journalist or non-fiction writer. Joan Didion never disappoints.

As always, Didion never disappoints. Her wit and ability to say something both beautiful and succinct is a talent I both admire and envy. Didion truly is one of the greatest writers of the 20th century.
