“It seemed incredible that their lives hinged on a carpooling conversation, but in life it is often the tiny details that end up being the most important.”

There’s something so appealing about misery and the fact that this specter vexed itself onto the Baudelaire’s lives makes their story all the more interesting. Sure there’s a bit of redundancy in the storytelling, but it’s quite intentional for the story is targeted at a young audience. Although, I don’t know what type of message this tale of orphans might communicate to youngsters with all the treacheries, murders, and total adult incompetence going around.
I’m not an evil man if I wish darker misery to befall on the Baudelaires in the upcoming sequels, am I? Snicket already seems keen on doing so. I hope he delivers.
