Seriously disappointing. This is disjointed, and reads like a collection of "second features" from back when there were comics with multiple stories in each issue. It focuses on filling in story gaps that I was not interested in knowing the backstory.
Badass black women warriors dealing with complicated issues of morality, duty, and politics while also falling in love? Yes, please! Roxann Gay once again wrecks my heart in the best possible way.
