overstays its welcome

this book should have been a blog post, or an essay, or even just a long bullet list. it speaks of an important topic but does it in so many pages! about two thirds of the text could and should have been dropped. there are however readers out there who like this kind of «self-improvement journey», long texts must create a kind of feeling of important achievemwnt in them. ok.

with some of the advices and suggestions i could not agree. like agressive removing of files, prefering online media rental services to owning, downloading and keeping favourive media, relying on proprietary cloud services? this is opposite to what i would call true digital minimalism, because for me, it goes together with digital freedom. not for the authors of this book, evidently.

however, there are some really good suggestions too.

now, i want to read cal newport's classical «digital minimalism».
