This is a very surprising read. A series of short(ish) stories, all based on Russian folklore. Meet Volodya Vorodin, a man who has to step in the shoes of a long line of women before him who were "witches"dealing with the spirit world and the afterlife.
Be surprised about the twists at the end of various stories. Laugh at some of the extremely funny parts, and may I quote:
"I reacted like any grown, Russian man would do. I screamed like a 4 year old girl..."
Discover what a hedgehog and a raven have in common. I can highly recommend this book.
