A pretty fun "read" (audiobook) with good building of tension, plenty of uncertainty, twists, and turns. It is very long and could have used some pruning.
I just like everything Connelly writes. This one is a bit older and going back to pagers and modems feels a bit odd, but hey, I'm not a young foal anymore, I know how it used to work. This book sets up one of the Bosch novels, I forget which one, and it felt nice to get some backstory to some recurring characters from the Bosch universe. Overall I very much enjoyed this book. Connelly just manages to portray any kind of professions in a way that at least makes you feel that he knows what he's talking about. Next up, The Scarecrow and then the wait for the next Bosch novel, dropping in the fall, will begin.
