The Crippled God

This book recovered well from the last book. The characters seemed familiar, and the author did a good job finishing up most of the story lines from the last 10,000 pages or so.

It took me a while given all that was going on in my life, but I finally finished this book and I am so glad! Like the other Malazan books, this starts of slowly but inexorably speeds up to a massive finale that leaves you breathless. As the final book of the series, it does it job very well managing to tie together so many different threads that I am left impressed at the scope and magnitude of the story. The characters are still the same ones we have come to love (and hate) and the prose is still as intricate as the prior books. Overall, I very much enjoyed the concluding novel of this series.

This was one good read... 10 books long.
Too much to digest. I have to re-read (someday, somewhere later this year or the next) the entire series in order to write a proper review.

In short: I Loved it. Capital L. Erikson is one special writer. Everything else pales besides these 10 books. This last book... ah the feelz. Brutal. Beautiful. Katharsis.

I cant believe this series is over. I have been reading it for years now. I guess I finally have to venture and out see what else Steven Erikson has written.

After a disappointing #9 I finally finished the series. I am glad I was able to enjoy the finale again. Finally many or even most of the storylines converge and all my favorites make a last appearance.

However the end also leaves me a bit confused, what happened ... why really did Cotillion do that?

The book is full of tears :)

If you have come this far into the series, then you know what to expect. Suffice it to say, SE does not let us down with the last of the Malazan Book of the Fallen. Worth the wait.
