In this essay, Orwell discusses the notion of nationalism, and argues that it causes people to disregard common sense and become more ignorant towards factuality. Orwell shows his concern for the social state of Europe, and in a broader sense, the entire world, due to an increasing amount of influence of nationalistic sentiment occurring throughout a large number of countries.

There's always this undertone in Orwell's writing that bugs me. He comes across as self-righteous and presumptuous. I also think that his conception about patriotism is wrong. It's not as innocent, it's not as harmless as he thinks it is.

The second essay seemed alright but I don't know anything about antisemitism in Britain in the 1940s so I have to trust Orwell on this.

And Orwell's misogyny becomes evident in the third essay. Apart from that I kinda liked it. I just wish it was longer and more in depth.
