The Boston Girl

This was the first book I've read by this author, and while it was kind of short, I'd read more books she wrote. There were parts where I was like, "Yeah, I'd like to have heard more about this aspect of your life." I did read the whole book in one sitting, and I usually don't do that.
It'll be curious to read more this author has written.

Heard the author speak at Pittsburgh Arts & Lectures, and decided to read one of her books. It's a wonderful story of growing up poor and Jewish in Boston, from 1915 until 1927.

There's not much plot, but if you're looking for a book with a sense of place (Boston) and time (early 1900s) with strong female characters (protagonist is the US-born daughter of Jewish Russian immigrants), this is a wonderful way to lose yourself for a weekend.
