This is a standalone reimagining of the story of Twilight. It’s a pretty standard gender swap, with the exception of Charlie, Renee, and one or two minor background characters, leaving us with Beau and Edythe. Due to some of the changes that the author made, it’s just one book, rather than an entire series, and as she said (paraphrasing), Beau goes through many fewer challenges, even if he’s left with one regret, so it was just the sweet love story that Stephenie Meyer intended
