This was a surprise. The premise seemed like it would be 50/50 on whether it was junk (but my kind of junk) or decent, but it actually turned out really well. Turns out grandson and grandma go on an adventure really means "collegiate rugby player gets roped into horrific quest by lying old lady." The magic around fulfilling stories was super cool, the art was really good, and the plot seems like it'll be great. Excited to check out more of this.

Review of 'Once & Future Vol. 1' on 'Goodreads'

This take on the Arthur mythos initially looks like it might be a riff on brexit and the rise of English nationalism, but seems more interested in discussing how stories affect our behaviour and expectations. It takes a monster of the week format and the art is both handsome and grotesque in the best ways with excellent use of colours to distinguish between reality and the otherworld. Definitely going to follow along with this series.
