If the book TWILIGHT is emotional pornography for teenage girls, THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY is emotional pornography for older women. In pornography no "character" ever has their expectations challenged. They are there for sex and that's it. Kablam, they commence with intercourse. In this kind of emotional pornography, scenes like this happen: "Wow I think I am having feelings for this man. I sure hope I can get him to love me." And thus he falls straight in love, all in a handful of pages.
If you are looking for a book you can read in a few hours and not be mentally challenged at all, this is the book for you.
