A Nice Intro to the Brain with Some Extraneous Parts

No rating

Feldman Barrett provides a good intro to how the brain functions in an accessible style. It's short and to the point, which is nice but limited in how much you'll learn if you already know the basics. As with her other books, Feldman Barrett strays into areas she's not clearly qualified to opine on, as one should probably expect in a book that is prominently endorsed by Daniel Pink. If you zip through those parts it's a good book

Concise manual for brain users

The best non-fiction book I've read in a long time. Full of expertise, well written, easy enough to understand for people who have not read anything about neuroscience, many new insights for those have.

If you want to learn more, you might be interested in "How Emotions Are Made" by the same author. It is far more effort to read, but should be ok, if you read the lessons first and liked them.

Review of 'Seven and a Half Lessons about the Brain' on 'Goodreads'

Loved the format of this book - easy to read, with options to dive deeper through the appendix and the website 7half.info 7half.info.

Feldman Barrett introduces up to date science about how brains have evolved, how they are organised, and 'run' our lives. Plus some tips on how we can learn to manage them better.
