I love Lemmy, I love Motorhead and I love music autobiographies, but this reads like a compilation of Penthouse letters sent to Kerrang! magazine.
After getting Spotify, I "discovered" Motorhead and instantly was puzzled why I hadn't listened to them over the years. As a result, I started watching some interviews with Lemmy and I thought that he must have some interesting stories to tell. He's led the life that you were warned by your parents not to do so but comes out as a smart loveable rogue. Probably only for the Motorhead devotee but still a good read about a wild life.
Lemmy loves women. Lemmy loves speed. Lemmy loves booze. Lemmy loves Motörhead. Lemmy loves Lemmy.
It's an arrogant autobiography but an honest one. Reading it is like sitting down and talking with Lemmy. It doesn't feel glossed over or polished up ... at all.
Some good stories and an enjoyable read. I expected it to be more "shocking", but I gather Lemmy wasn't out to "prove" anything... except that he ain't going away!
