Steampunk lesbian space pirates. Oh, I should write more? So Alice is the best mechanic in the Coalition (corrupt authoritarian state) until she is kidnapped by the pirate captain Violet to fix up her ship. Does she fall for the life of a rogue, helping supply rebels (yeah, they’re nice liberal pirates rather than the ruthless kind), the lovely crew and good food? Or does she fall for Violet? Not that the captain would fraternise with a member of her crew… not publicly at least
As well as being on the run from the Coalition, they have to face off rival pirates (the ruthless kind), mechanical breakdowns and untested technologies. And there is an entire chapter of them flirting over what is clearly a game of Magic The Gathering. Well, not the entire chapter, the last 3rd is the after-game sex.
It definitely leans to the cosy side of piracy …

It definitely leans to the cosy side of piracy to the extent that seems a little silly. You’ve been a pirate for how many years but somehow never had to kill someone? You’re shocked that the Coalition now wants you dead? Honestly, you people have been riding cottagecore piracy. But that’s it’s charm I guess. There's a whole series I need to read now...
