The Western Star

This is my third Longmire, read way out of sequence, and it felt a bit different, shorter, no softporn interlude (I hope that's not a spoiler), and toward the end it felt like it shifted gears suddenly, like enough character building backstory, let's get ready for the next book. Still, I cranked through it.

Stylistically this novel seems unique within the series. There is an extensive use of flashbacks and a rather significant reduction in sarcasm and humor. Nonetheless this novel is a worthwhile and speedy read.

Well now, that's just a fascinating read.

Mixed feelings about the cliffhanger. Enjoyed this otherwise.
