Review of 'Slade House' on 'Storygraph'

4 stars

I found The Bone Clocks to be rather long-winded, so a fairly light thriller was a nice change. The repetitive story structures worked well, producing effective twists as they became more elaborate. SpoilerI'd been expecting the Horologists to appear since The Bone Clocks specifically referenced them defeating these Anchorites (I think). The repetition and my expection led me to be (briefly) convinced that Todd Cosgrove was Marinus. The exposition in the ParaSoc meeting was a little tiresome, but not enough to dampen my enjoyment. I'm looking forward to my next David Mitchell book.
