Daisy Shoemaker can’t sleep. With a thriving cooking business, full schedule of volunteer work, and a beautiful home in the Philadelphia suburbs, she should be content. But her teenage daughter can be a handful; her husband can be distant, her work can feel trivial, and she has lots of acquaintances, but no real friends. Still, Daisy knows she’s got it good. Review of 'That Summer' on 'Goodreads'

3.5 rounding to 4. Set in the midst of the Me Too movement, this book asks: how broad and lasting is the impact of rape, and what should happen to the men who were boys when they did it? It's a worthy story constructed as a page-turner. I wish Weiner hadn't relied on (what can only be described as) a hare-brained scheme to pursue justice. Aspects of the plot made me shake my head because they were so far-flung and unbelievable (and unnecessary) that they distracted from what could have been a very strong story. I'm still rounding up to 4 stars because I found it an enjoyable, easy read, despite the subject.
