The Beautiful : 4 stars
(Reread : October 2021)

One thing is for sure, the way Renée Ahdieh describes her atmospheres is great, I loove this 1800s New Orléans's setting, with a diverse cast of characters and Celine, this amazing queen^^
I reread this a year after the first time, and it still was very interesting! Now onto the rest

If I had to say why it's "only" a 4 stars, I thought the pacing was a little too quick at the end, and the romance was good, just not drawn out enough but at the same I understand why the author did that lol
Also some of the themes could have been more subtle... (like Celine not wanting to be part of "proper society" and having "darkness" inside of her)

nothing is new. nothing is breathtaking and unseen before. nothing can convince me that this isn't a fanfiction of …
