Annihilation

The twelfth expedition enters Area X.

This is not a bad book, Annihilation is just absolutely not for me. I didn't enjoy the premise, characters, world-building, story, all of it was dull verbiage. I cannot stand supernatural stuff, it reads like tedious bullshit to me. Which is, coincidently, how I'd describe this book. I got a strong “Lost” vibe from it, and if one considers that a good thing, I can see Annihilation being enjoyable.

Un libro inizio di una triologia che mi ha affascinato, non spiega molto, quasi nulla, ma l'atmosfera è sempre tesa, onirica. Un libro ben scritto e che lascia riflettere su molte cose al di la della trama superficiale

This is a quite strange story, so I can understand why several people wrote opposing reviews or are kind of disappointed.
I'm glad I enjoyed very much this book, even though it is sometimes a bit slow. Well, probably the pragmatic, curious and scientific approach of the biologist to new situations helped a lot XD
Overall, it is very fascinating and totally caught my interest. I couldn't put it down: that's why I finished it in one day.
