Every single time I read this, I'm convinced I could go off and live in the woods following this as a guide.

For reference, I could not. I hate bugs, I don't like to be dirty, I've never killed or skinned an animal in my life and would probably have a panic attack attempting to do so, and there's no tree that would be able to keep my books safe from the elements properly, and what's the point of living anywhere if I don't have more books than I can read?

I still, as an adult, find it unutterably charming, though, and am willing to at least pretend for the length of the novel that none of those things would be an issue. I will live in a tree with a falcon and go through the winter and learn how to preserve food and everything will be an awesome adventure.
