I find this book mostly impossible to rate. Usually I rate by how much I enjoyed reading a book. I did not enjoy reading this at all -- I found it harrowing, terrible and at times hard to get through due to its literary style -- but it is clearly a very important book describing events and structures that everyone should know about, by an extraordinary writer. I am glad I read it.
