As a potted history of major events in humankind, the bulk of the middle of this book acts as a good primer. As a book about the history of The Mosquito in the context of human history, its a bit stretched.
Shame, because there’s much to like here – if only so many mosquito driven angles in some of the histories didn’t come across as tenuous.
As with too many books today, quantity has won over quality and the lack of a good strong editor has let the author and their ego down.
I feel I was generous with my three stars, but it was a good read in parts.
