A pretty awesome story about Tigers (surprise!), the concept of Umwelt, conservation and how we humans used to interact and mythologize nature. Also contains lots of trivia about Russia, Siberia and some pretty interesting tidbits about the biology of tigers. Fun to read. Thanks for that recommendation @philipp bayer!
Too much about Russian history and geography and not nearly enough about tigers munching on peoples. The parts of the book about the tiger are amazing, but there's just too much back story about the history of illegal logging in Siberia and the tangentially related topics.
