In the heart of the sea

The story that inspired Moby Dick, told exceptionally well by Philbrick, is a real-life Odyssey surpassing most fiction. The author's scholarship (about such topics as Quakerism, survival psychology, cannibalism, racism, starvation, sailing, and whaling) enriches the tale without being obtrusive, and inspires me to learn more. Excellent work!

A great little book, very quick read, but riveting. If you ever feel unlucky, read this book and think on how much worse your luck could be. Excellent.
