Not very funny, and the main plot appears to be shared with I've Got Your Number: a backstabbing coworker alters emails (wth?), a romantic interest can't commit.
It's bizarre, it's like what would happen in writing exercise if you intentionally said, let's take that other plot but mix it up a tad
Not my usual kind of book, it was mediocre. The characters were okay, but there was so much superfluous detail I found it difficult to concentrate on the story sometimes. I think I'd like a holiday at their glamping venue though.
I received an advance review copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. So perfectly chick lit. My Not So Perfect Life struck a very nice balance between workplace drama, rom-com, family tale, and self improvement. It keeps a nice breezy pace and never bogs down. I found just enough comic relief to keep interpersonal issues from overwhelming the book, yet there was a decent amount of substance underneath the fluff. It was a very nice change of pace from the Shopaholic series which had become rather formulaic.
