I’m so glad I listened to this as an audio book, rather than trying to slog through reading it. I never would have gotten through it. In general I found the story to be pretty solid even though very few characters have any redeeming value. Additionally they are all rather flat, and very few develop in any noticeable way. The narrator of the book is also intrusive which breaks the flow of the book even more than shutting off the car. It didn’t help any that the narrator was clearly male while the reader was female. It was jarring.
