Zombie spaceship wasteland

Oswalt has always been a thoughtful storyteller—among the many strengths of his comedy is his ability to take you on a journey, rather than tossing out wisecracks and observations. His prose is strong and evocative, and it’s interesting that episodes of memoir are interspersed with “comedy bits” full of out-loud laughs—no rhyme or reason, apparently just stuff that came to him that would work better in a book than onstage.

This was a surprisingly sober insight into a facet of Patton Oswalt's personality and past, and I don't really know how to criticize or judge autobiographical work, except on the basis of how well I feel I understood what the author seemed to be trying to say. I think I grasped it fairly well, and particularly appreciated chapters like "On A Street In New Orleans" and "Ticket Booth", which feel strangely raw and revealing.

Love Patton's stand up, loved this. A short but sweet look into the background of one of the funniest nerds still trying to make us laugh.
