Quick impressions: I struggled a bit between two and three stars for this one. The first two acts to be honest can be very slow, and at times I wanted to drop the book and move on. The parts of the Space Marines training to become Deathwatch were interesting. The other story elements were good but not great. You keep waiting for the marines to finally get deployed, which happens in the third act, but even that has a slow pacing. It's towards the end this book redeems itself, and it makes you wonder what may be next, leaving you with a few open questions. So in the end, yea, I wanted to like it more, but it was just OK.
