Andy P. reviewed Alien: The Cold Forge by Alex White
A pointless slog
2 stars
I really wanted to like this story based on a podcast interview with the author, which may have made my disappointment in how the story was written worse.
It’s told in present tense, and more than half the chapters are an internal monologue from the antagonist’s point of view. The most boring, cliche self-absorbed villain. Utterly uninteresting. It’s like knives on a chalkboard, this book actually made me mad and not in a cleaver way. I’m just so disappointed. The plot was better than most of the recent Alien movies. But I’m still mad so 2 stars.
