A long rambling novel about five dominions, of which the earth is one, which some are seeking to "reconcile". Apparently four are reconciled, while the fifth, earth, is not. But the first dominion is held by a self-exiled deity, Hapexamendios, who hides behind a barrier, the "erasure". Much is assumed, and not explained, such as the nature or meaning of the "reconciliation" that some seek, and others seek to prevent.
