Review of 'Insignificant events in the life of a cactus' on 'Goodreads'
5 stars
I adore this book. Aven is such a bright and fun character, and I love how she deals with her disability with humor and pragmatism and refuses to let it define her. It was refreshing to read a book where disabled/otherwise "different" kids get to bond with one another. Also great that Aven is adopted and that's also no big deal. The setting in Stagecoach Pass, an old West theme park, is unique and fun. In addition to the top-notch realistic fiction, there's some light mystery here that's engaging as well. I will immediately be reading the sequel.
