This was a fantastic work examining the "colonization" of South Korea in the 20th century. I knew bits and pieces of the atrocities committed in Korea, but not the extent or duration of it. This mix of interviews, short essays, poetry, and prose was a powerful presentation of just how devastating the repeated occupations of Korea were.
My only problem is that a couple of the chapters got a bit weirdly abstract for my taste. Not bad by any stretch of the imagination, just not to my taste.
