THE SHOCK OF THE FALL is an extraordinary portrait of one man's journey through the spinning vortex that is mental illness. It is a brave and groundbreaking novel from one of the most exciting new voices in fiction.
An interesting and experimental style of structuring which i felt worked for around 90% of the novel. I found the last part a little trying though - won't spoil it for others.
Skilful and clever in how it is put together for the main part.
Un roman assez particulier, par toujours très facile à suivre, mais diablement efficace pour nous plonger dans la tête d'un adolescent schizophrène qui tente de faire le deuil de son frère aîné. J'ai eu parfois du mal à avancer dans ce livre, mais j'ai finalement bien aimé le dénouement.
