I nearly quit after the first 15 minutes because I thought it was just going to be a mom pushing her daughter to find a husband. No, I didn't read the blurb...

Anyway, I ended up really enjoying the story. The delivery is different and it took me a bit to get into but glad I stuck it out.

Fun, quick listen.

I was disappointed with this book, but it was my own fault for not taking a closer look before starting it. I was expecting essays with alternate viewpoints on philosophical matters, not psychobabble and analyst-speak. Not going to provide a poor rating just because I'm accidentally reading outside my genre.

the slowest book in the series. felt like harry potter and the deathly hallows part 1 with how much set up there was. it's the least romance-y of the series (tbh of any of her books), and even those bits weren't as satisfying as i wished they were (probably because elena and raphael are my least favorite couple in the series).

That was a very fun, short read. I may even listen again sometime.

Listened again but with my son this time. Still feel the same about it. He enjoyed it a lot.

Trying to get my wife into audio books and thought this would be a good pick for her. She liked it quite a bit. Score!

normally i enjoy kelly oram books, but this one i just couldn't and dnf'ed it. i found jamie and ryan to be insufferable, and they little to no character development.

the beginning had me skeptical- it felt a bit dated (mick had to ask elizabeth for tara's info instead of searching her up on the internet, mick states that he's a multimillionaire instead of a billionaire). and i realize their one night stand is the foundation for them, but it still was too quick for me (not to mention the fact that in the beginning third/half it seemed like 80% of the time they spent together was having sex, despite them saying that they really liked talking to each other).

wth elizabeth. maybe tara wasn't the best for mick's presence in the media, but if he 1) tells you repeatedly to stop messing with her, and then 2) you go out of your way to screw them up, i don't care what you try to do to make it up. will not be reading her story based on her character from this book.

i haven't really said anything complementary about this one, but it did make me cry. and i really like to cry when i read romance novels. nathan's relationship with mick was really sweet, even if nathan's character wasn't the most believable (i can't imagine many 15 year olds giving their moms that kind of life/love advice). maybe if i went in knowing that it skewed more towards erotic rather than sports/contemporary romance, i would have enjoyed the beginning/middle of the story more.

I loved this short glimpse into the author's experiences with her mother's passing. I do a more complete review on C-Spot Reviews but suffice it to say that I was caught up in it from the first few sentences and never even contemplated stopping until the final word.

I definitely recommend it and I immediately bought a copy for a friend once I was done reading it.

Supremely interesting and highly recommended. Samuelsson sounds self-assured but not cocky (different from how he comes off on TV), but still humble. I admire his work ethic and dedication, even when they come in the way of his relationships.
