Unnecessarily ambiguous and full of fluff. The concept of the comic is brilliant, but we spend so much time in the main character's flashbacks on seemingly normal situations he had in life that had a big impact on his personality. I've read this graphic novel twice, and I still don't understand how most of it has any relevance to the overarching plot. It feels like a story that confuses you on purpose, I almost wouldn't know this was a story about the cure for death had I not read the summary... It never explicitly says it. I REALLY wanted to like this, and I love its creativity, but it just comes off as a little too pretentious and tries too hard to have an underlying point that they forgot to write a good story.
