An excellent history of the chemical sciences

This is a fantastic history of the development of chemistry, and chemical science, more generally from ancient times up to 2021. It's bang up to date. It's not a book to teach you chemistry, but rather a history book. Highly recommended. All the books in this series from DK that I've read have been superb.
