Found this a struggle! Not much happens after the first third, except for endless digression and descriptive prose. A lot of the conversations are in untranslated Spanish, most of which I could follow but would be hard for someone with no Spanish.

This book really wrecked me. I'd like to read it again from a critical standpoint, just to catch some of the depth I know I missed, but then on the other hand, I don't know that I can handle the sadness.
