It’s always so easy with hindsight to see both the process of a historical occurrence and the ramifications of that. Here there is an attempt to pull us back to actually being alive in 1939. Not possible really, we cannot forget what ensued. What does work is to show us how many other developments were being faced at the same time and how messy the world was.
