I wasn't disappointed in this, because I wasn't expecting his best work. That being said, I really enjoyed it. It was a tad disturbing reading about the Wisconsin Capitol being blown to smithereens by a nuclear bomb, as I live 6 blocks away from that building, but I loved hearing about all the Madison neighborhoods! That's not a great reason to read a book, but you can't go wrong with Terry Pratchett, a million different Earths, and a little bit of Wisconsin tossed it. I enjoyed it.
Edit: I actually live 2 blocks away from the Capitol now, so the end of this novel is more disturbing than it was a year ago :-) I enjoyed this more the second time through, even though I found Sally to be downright nasty. I don't like people/characters who mock other people just because he/she feels uncomfortable around them. Ick. I guess she …

I guess she makes a good counter to Joshua, though, who seems almost personality-less due to his always even-keeled temperament. Not sure which is more annoying, actually.
